Confused mama bear
"Mom, I need to go to the bathroom". Those dreaded words that no mom wants to here in this situation. With a cart full of groceries, a 3 year old hanging from the cart desperately crying for that conveniently placed toy, A 1-year old that is screaming to get out of those germ infested cart restraints, and my 7 year old son says he has to "go". Really?!
As we walk to the bathroom I am telling, (actually yelling, in an attempt to talk louder then my 3 year old) repeating all of our safety rules that I repeat every time he is about to use the public restroom. He is 7 now and as much as I would like to, he will not let me take him to the women's bathroom.
By the time we approach the men's room I have repeated my overprotective mom speech several times. Including, but not limited to, "if you don't feel comfortable, turn around and walk out."
As I wait as close to the men's room door as possible I can't help but think about this target controversy. My concern in allowing men in the girls bathroom is safety. Which is scary, But haven't I been letting my boys go to the men's room alone for several years (of course, not without my never-ending paranoid mom speech)? I suppose it made think about my stand against target. Don't get me wrong, it is very upsetting. And I know that target was making a political statement. I still disagree, but is boycotting target really the answer? I read an article today that was interesting......
I would like to hear your thoughts.... (Maybe?......be nice ;). At what point do we stand up for what we believe and when do we let things go?
I'm just a confused mama that would wrap her kids in a bubble if I could.

Target boycott!
I am posting to let you all know that I will no longer be posting target coupon deals. I am so sad. I loved shopping and saving at Target.
I haven't officially signed the boycott with the 500,000 others, but I am super disappointed in Target!
I'll admit, I don't particularly feel safe in any public bathroom, but to give men an open invitation into the woman's bathroom is not winning target any points.
Are school bathrooms and locker rooms next? Crazy world we live in.

MENU!!
Ok, I have been a little slow on posting coupon deals. But, I am excited about adding a new feature to help save money.
Making a menu saves time and money but for some reason I am terrible at sitting down to do it. I want a menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and snack options. This requires less thinking during the week :) With all the running, band, toddlers, and cold lunch making, it's really hard not to just throw the box of Lucky Charms (which we got for $.88 ;)) on the table with some bowls and milk.
I also wanted a menu that I could prepare the meal ahead of time. For instance, cooking chicken once and using it twice.
Finally, the menu has to go along with that weeks sales. That's just the way I roll. :)
So here is what I came up with for this week. Ideally, I would shop Monday and my menu will run Monday to Monday. The Albertsons deals will end Wednesday so if it doesn't work I can do it Tuesday. If you are wondering why I don't do it earlier in the sales week it is because I am leaving time to get my coupons, if I order them.

For this weeks lunches, on Monday night I will make jello and pudding and put them in these....
I used to used these......
but Ziplock discontinued them, boo!
I will also put any dressing (for the salad or veggie dipping) for this weeks lunches in these.....
I will also prepare any snacks or other little lunch items that I can.
BONUS prepare ahead dinner ideas....
- On Monday when you fix chicken, cube extra chicken and pan fry enough to put in the kids lunch on Tuesday with their salad. And also cook enough for the Jumbalaya on Wednesday. This will save a lot of time Wednesday!
- On Tuesday, taco salad, make extra hamburger and save it for Thursday in the Scooters spaghetti.

Cornbread muffins..... I mix 2 jiffy mixes and a yellow cake mix (add all the ingediants from all 3 boxes. Its super yummy. It is a copy cat Boston Market recipe.
